just tough luck I guess and sometimes when we are a little hyper It seems to move a little slower

Probably for the same reason that the lane I'm in on the highway is always moving the slowest.

Because when you move over to the other one, two people get there just ahead of you and then that line is slower. Your old spot by now has been taken up by three other people. That's why your line is always slower than any other.
