Right click on "My Computer" or go to System in Control panel and make sure they are in a workgroup of the same name.
You might also have to turn off the firewall to do some things associated with "linking" computers. You will also need MS file and printer sharing enabled.
And for the most basic part; make sure they are both connected to the router 1) by usb wireless 2) LAN wire connection to router, etc.

A router is a "bridge" that allows multiple computers to talk. However, if you intend on connecting two computers to it, each computer needs to be able to access the router.
If it's not a wireless router, then the USB wireless adapter will do you no good. If it is, then you need two wireless adapters so both computers can connect to the router (unless you have a cat5 or cat6 cable goin from one computer to the router).
However, if it's not a wireless router, you'll need to run power to the router and then run a cat5 or cat6 cable from an ethernet card in the computers to the router itself.

oh, wow, I don't think I could explain all that and what to do if this or that happens.
I will tell you the tougest part is the wireless adaptor (with me not getting into your connection type). Once the drivers are properly installed, your good to go.
You can read the directions and some compaines will give you tech support (your provider).
Now none of this makes sense if you don't know how to communicate with each device. Suffice it to say you basically just plug everything in and let her go.

attached your Internet Connection to your 1 computer, then go to network connection properties, then click configure, or obtain IP address automatically, you must remember your IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Server No. then, transfer your internet connection from your router, then click your internet explorer, if there's no connection, unplug the power of your router at least 2 mins. then plug again until you connect. To connect your multiple computer to the internet, go to your Local Area Connection, look for Internet Protocol, properties, check "Use the following address", then assigned your desired IP Address your subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS Address
NOTE: your IP address should not have the same IP Number: for example: your IP Address is 192.168.1.1, then subnet mask is "255.255.255.0" your Default Gateway "192.168.1.2, then DNS Address: 203.84.191.216, then the other computer must have IP adress: 192.168.1.2 or 3 or one to 100, must much default gateway and DNS.
thank you
