In a 2004 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Steve Colbert acknowledged that he's a Democrat.
However, as pointed out by previous respondents, Colbert is a professional comedian whose act is political parody. Typically, political comedians make fun of the party in power, and the most powerful individuals amongst that party - therefore, George Bush and other members of the administration are CURRENTLY the most popular targets for political comedy.
When the party in power is replaced by the other party, political comedians generally have one of two choices. They can turn their 'guns' on the new administration, or they can basically kiss their careers goodbye.
In short - Stephen Colbert does not pick on Republicans because he's a Democrat - he picks on Republicans because the Bush administration is the flavor of the day. Were a Democratic president in power, Colbert would either be picking on the Democrats, or you wouldn't even begin to know who Stephen Colbert is.

Based on his tone, language and performance at the White House Correspondents Annual Dinner this year, I would say he is Tilted Hard to the Left. His attempts at humor came off as lame and strident. All the previous hosts have of course taken shots at the administration, but they still managed to be funny. Colbert was not funny and he came across as mean-spirited. I was surprised since I usually find him funny on the TV shows.

sure, all of us do not ignore that Colbert is being sarcastic. I do exactly not imagine he's humorous. His total element reminds me of The O'Frankin aspect. and also you talk of the 1/2 Hour information Hour in previous annoying. that's nevertheless on. Sundays at 10PM jap. And even as you imagine that Jon Stewart and bill Maher look like they're having relaxing on their tutor, i imagine they look annoyed. I had a strong chum of mine tell me that he did not imagine that Al Frankin regarded or sounded annoyed about something. I informed him to look closer. I met up him back about 2 weeks later, and he agreed with me. do not even get me all started on George Carlin. i do not imagine that Rush or Miller are propose lively both. i imagine they're realists. i imagine they don't ignore that even as ninety 9% of people will do the right element, those ninety 9% receives mowed down by employing the a million% if we allow them. that's relaxing to poke relaxing at those who spout off about all we want to do is purely understand and then we are able to all get alongside and each and each and every of the international's issues will be over, and hit them complicated. I do agree that there are a spread of, many extra liberal comedians than conservatives, regardless of the indisputable fact that it extremely is the leisure section. contained in the tips and debate section, conservatives take the lead by employing a mile and that's no longer even close. that's purely 2 distinct aspects.

Just about everyone who was on the Daily Show is a "democrat" by today's standards.
In that, they don't buy into mainstream stupid.
