On the water heater there is a dial...check to see if it is on low or anything. It regulates the temp.

Other than the obvious someone taking a shower before you... I would check three things:
1) (Most likely) If you have a water heater with 2 heating elements, one will probably be set at a permanently mild tempature (mine is 120) and the other is adjustable to warmer temps. Chances are the warmer one has gone out, so you are only getting the water from the one. If you only have 1 heating element, then I'd check the thermostat first.
2) Your dial got adjusted somehow, this one should be easy to check, the dial is either visable on the outside, or right inside one of the access panels.
3) Your thermostat could be going bad, your water heater manual should give you instructions on how to test.

Did you play with the dial on the hot water heater??? You should be able to adjust the heat there, otherwise is someone taking a long shower before you and using up all the hot water??
or it could be that you need a new hotwater tank :)

check your hot water heater. I'm not sure about reset buttons but for some reason I'm thinking they do. You may just have to replace your hot water heater. I live in Texas so my cold water is warm all summer, not warm enough for a shower though.

Have you checked your water tank for a temperature dial? It should have one towards the bottom on the front side. Usually they are set at 5. You may need to turn it up 1 or 2 dials. If your not comfortable checking it,then you should call a service technician to come out and check it.It may be going bad! Hope this helps.

You need to turn up the temperature knob on your water heater, or perhaps you need a whole new water heater. If yours is around fifteen or more years old, it's time to replace it.
