I have a book of pennies with two slots for each year, but in 1982 there are five slots. Does anyone know what this is for?

All in all there are 7 1982 coins that made it into circulation.

1982 Large date made of Copper
1982 Small date made of Copper
1982D made of Copper
1982 Large date made of Copper-plated Zinc

The extra spaces are for copper and copper-plated zinc types.

There are slots for large and small dates .If you look at several pennies at the same time you will notice a difference in the size of the dates
