I live in Mass now, and I am gonna move to New york next month, and I like going to college next month in NY also, so at that time will I pay out-of state fee or in-state fee? Because I work in Mass, paid tax in Mass this year? If I need to apply for financial aid, how long should I do before scholl?

To declare residency, get a driver's license and register to vote. (however if you are still in school and living with your parents you can be a resident of MA)

How things work for me (I live in NY and go to school in PA and work in both areas) is that I pay taxes on what I earn in PA to PA and what I earn in NY to NY.

For SUNY schools I believe you need to be a resident for a year to get in-state tuition. That means transferring your car over to NY plates for 12 months

To get financial aid you fill out the school's form and FAFSA and return it by April 1.

you'll end up paying out-of-state. since you've lived in mass. and paid taxes in mass. last year, and you are just now moving to new york, it'll be out-of-state. Most state/school's residency requirments require you to have lived in state (and pay taxes) for at least a year.

My guess is out-of-state, sorry.

If you have any questions, most colleges have a guidance counselor or something of the sort to talk to.

Ask them, not us!
