I'm in a MetalCore band and I'm working on a piano solo for a breakdown....any suggestions?

Be different. Don't stick to just the 1 - 4 - 5 chord with the occassional 2 minor or 6 minor. Do something different. Make people remember it. Too many people write the same music with different lyrics/styles going on.

Okay, I'll try answering I'm not a songwriter But if I was to answer I'd say the usual blah and say, be imaginative Also, maybe you could rope in some personal experiences Or what you'd like in the future Or some whole environmental thing Or a total fantasy What matters is that you choose what you want

Remember you have a lot of keys. Be fast and fancy like Jerry Lee Lewis, and like him, when all else fails, set the piano on fire!

listen to some classical piano music for ideas.. The composers were some of the best musicians that ever lived:Chopin, Beethoven, Satie, Mozart...also jazz piano...."borrow"from the best!!!!!!!!!!!!
