Not sure what you mean by that - but here's something to think about:
Have you ever seen a cat play with a mouse?
Hamsters are cannibalistic.
Male lions eat their young so they won't have competition.
Ants have vicious wars between themselves.
and many more, so it's not just man - it's just nature.

If you are referring to man as in humankind, I think one of the reasons we developed "badly" is because of our intelligence and our capacity to develop a sense of community.
For example, look at our capacity for war. Many other species will fight among themselves- just watch any nature documentary. Of course, most of these creatures will stop fighting once dominance has been established, and the scale of fighting will typically be limited to a few indivduals.
Humans are different. We have the ability to develop weapons which change fighting from a gradual, intimate process to an immediate, impersonal encounter. For example, if I am fighting someone with my fists, I can slowly get the upper hand, see them in pain, see them submitting, and then stop beating them.
If I use a gun rather than fists, the fight doesn't progress slowly. I just pull the trigger, and an instant later the person is dead. I don't have a chance to "pull back" once I have taught them a lesson. With a weapon, it is all or nothing.
What's worse, my capacity to develop an ideology and have a sense of kinship with others like me makes it easy to motivate me to kill on a mass scale. An influential leader can easily convince me that another group of humans are actually evil, believe in stange and unacceptable things, and need to be killed before they kill my group. This makes it possible for me to kill other humans who don't pose any kind of direct threat- they become a dangerous "other" in my mind, worthy only of being killed.
That's not to say intelligence or sense of community are bad things. Those attributes also allow us to develop higher standards of living, change our environments, and cooperate with our neighbors. It's just that most of the things that make us "human" have the capacity to make us very good OR very bad.

If other creatures had that kind of technology they'd be just as bad. Remember, we may be human but we're still animals.

We are territorial. Animals fight all the time for land. They have claws and teeth. We have guns, bombs, and nukes.
