Prejudice becomes racism when you're prejudiced against a person because of their race,or hate an idea or object because it comes from a certain race or culture.
You can be a very prejudiced person without being a racist. I'm prejudiced against cheap, low-quality products, versus higher priced, good quality products. That type of prejudice has nothing to do with racism.

prejudice and racism are not necessarily related. If you're racist you don't like someone because of their skin color, but you can be prejudiced against a person with the same skin color, but maybe a different nationality.
