It all depends on who the ghost is and what it wants... it also deponents on if the ghost is haunting the house of if the ghost is haunting you !!!
Many people will tell you to communicate with it or to consult a holy person, be carefully these thing might only make it mad....
The first step (that I would do) would be to go to a holy place and pray... for only GOD is LORD of all, consult GOD only, do not be afraid, GOD made you and GOD knows how to communicate with you.
The first thing you should try to establish is why the presence of a ghost has been exposed to your life. Next you should try to find out who it is. Remember the ghost of a lonely child is different from the ghost of a deranged killer. Next you have to determine if it is stronger that you or if you are stronger than it. If you have decided that you have the strength, then the ghost will pose no threat. Next you have to find out what it wants, in the case that it is a lost soul it may be approaching you for help. If that is the case, it will be your duty to help it.
But you have to be wise and make sure that it is not a deceiving spirit that really has another motive.
Like I said from the beginning, you have to consult GOD, because GOD knows all things.
Above all else, TRUST GOD, ask for God's Guidance !!!
Be Careful, be wise, trust nobody but God, and do not allow yourself to be deceived.

See if you can find a prist to perform an exorcism or find a local paranormal group that deals with ghost in a nearby local area.

Don't even think about talking to a ghost!
they dont know theyre dead.
they dont know they died.
theyre just therr ferr unfinished buisness.
and you cant really do anything about it.
you can move out and thats almost all you can do.
if the spirit is possed.
as in wanting to kill you.
get a priste and some Holy Water.

1. If u are not scared, talk with it and get to know its history. (assuming that it's a good ghost)
2. If u are scared.....run!!!!!!!!

If you really don't want it around, put your foot down and state that this is YOUR home, YOUR life, and you want it to LEAVE!
Personally, I have about three spirits wandering around my home, but they are my paternal great-grandmother, grandfather, and grandmother and would probably kick my @$$ if I tried to get rid of them, lol.
