no it wasn't Buck and Roy, these 2 guys would be shown for about 20 seconds, slapping their leg and the other going eep-ah-eep oop-ah-oop etc. (the words/lyrics are more less jibberish)

one guy was dead pan looking and the other guy was super hyper.

I want to say Junior Samples slapping his thigh and Archie Campbell with the eeps, but it's been so long I can't be sure.
But Buck Owens was a pickin' and Roy CLARK was a grinnin'.
