How does a pitcher earn a "hold"?? What are the requirements as opposed to a "save"???

A save is when you finish the game and come into the game with either the tying run on deck, or a 3 run lead if you come in at the start of an inning. A hold is when you come in during a save situation but leave the game with the lead still intact.

a hold is when a reliever comes into the game with runners on base and keeps them from scoring...it's kind of a middle reliever stat
