have you ever wondered how things got thier names? and what it would be like if lets say a fork wasn't called a fork? we would be eating with dogs instead of forks and having house for dinner instead of chicken. weird.......

Not really, but a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet.
and a dog would be a eating utensil, and I'd walk my fork around the block, except for rainy days, when he'd have to go in front of the chicken.

if a fork was called a dog (and the reverse true), youd probably be thinking the same thing, just in reverse also, right?

call it whatever you want. a word is just a verbal symbol that refers to an object or idea, it has no real meaning of its own.

I have wondered, but I never thought we should call forks, forks. Another name, though.

Yes, I have wondered that. I've also thought about teaching babies the wrong words...like instead of car, tell them it's an elephant. Then when they are going down the road with someone, they'll keep saying, "hey I see an elephant"

I do wonder about things like why we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway... and why "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean the same thing.

I've wondered why we call poop poop, ok imagine this - "Hey you guys want to go to the olive garden and get some poop to eat" "Oh sure but first I think I must alfredo" WTF? I don't think so, lets be happy and not wonder.
