Is the DNC just trying to convince their base that freedom is a guaranteed handout that is totally free? Did the founding fathers believe this?

FREEDOM AIN'T FREE

By WILLY SENKIWSKY (unfinished) 5/21/06 8:30 pm G-Harp, Key of D, Acoustic
Folk/Blues song

The Pres says... let us check your mail and calls
He is stupid or he has a lot of balls!
Ben Franklin; "those who would trade liberty for security deserve neither"
I guess George W. never studied this in Yale; where he was a cheater!

Because freedom ain't something they give away
With a $25 purchase at Wal-Mart today!
Freedom has a price; usually blood
And it demands the young while still a stud!

George Bush wants the Fed's to be my mommy
I always thought that was the definition of a commie!
So keep your hands out my pocket; I don't need you
Cause the young men gave up lives I can tell you; "go screw!"

Because freedom ain't something you buy
On sale only 19.95, plus shipping, that's just a lie!
I pity the fools who fall for that sales pitch
Cause freedom ain't free and life is still a b*tch!

I remember 'cell phones' hung on County Jail walls
I wasn't answering them or waiting for calls!
And, no, I didn't do the crime
I kept my mouth shut and did the time!

No freedom needs work,
I don't mean 1000 censors you jerk!
Freedom ain't something conjured up by a witch
No freedom ain't free; and life is still a b*tch!!!...

See this is exactly why I went from being Republican to Democrat. The Republican Party just complains and complains when they are not in power, they just pick away bit by bit until they have power again and then they screw it all up again and then the process repeats over and over. 1. In no way has the Democratic Party even suggested or mentioned straying away from Capitalism. Democrats support Capitalism. Republicans support privatizing the economy (which would ruin our GDP and eliminate international trade). 2. We already have large scale Capitalism. Look around you, our entire economic system (even the private sector) has been run by large scale capitalism for 100 years. We saw the biggest expansion of government under Republicans, but we also saw the biggest expansion of large scale Capitalism under Republicans also. 3. "based on private property and private initiative" that is almost the exact wording from the Republican Economic Plan (they released a copy to the media). So that part actually describes the Republican Party, not the Democrats. Nationalization of industries was started by the Republicans with a program called TARP that distributed 250 Billion dollars and guess what we dont even know where any of the money went because there were no records or regulations on the program. 4. "Buy American" again this is a Republican Policy that proposed cutting international trade with China and India and producing more American Products. This initially sounds good but, this again would ruin our GDP. Gross Domestic Product is based on trade and overall revenue, the majority of our GDP is formed through international trade, so the Buy American policy would ruin our GDP and throw us into a Depression and a nationwide grid lock. So again what you are describing here is the Republican Party, not the Democrats. You may say I'm wrong or that I'm a liar and give me a thumbs down...fine go ahead. But I am actually telling the truth, the info here is directly from the Republican and Democratic Policital Platforms. You don't believe me? Look it up! You'll find that I am right and that you are wrong. O ya FYI the Fascist Movement (and the Nazi Party) were actually considered right wing movements. In fact the Nazi Party and the Fascist Movement opposed Liberalism. Liberalism was outlawed in Italy during world war II which was under Fascist rule at the time. The Nazi's also opposed any type of Communism, Capitalism, or Liberalism (that is directly out of my history book).

Americans are free,,, the founding fathers did believe this,,,, many have fought and died to protect our liberty,,, and many veterans live still today,, remembering that our freedom was why they gave years of their lives so that their children and all American children would be born with liberty,, this is the Democrat idea, that freedom is there for the taking,,,

but fiscal conservatives choose to mock this country,, the land of the free,,and home of the brave,,,, ridicule those who want peace,,,, and yet,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Democrats refuse to allow Republicans to intimidate them or frustrate their hopes, that America can once again be the greatest country in the world,,,,, people like you will self destruct.........

Freedom is not free!!! Whoever says that needs to be slapped across the face silly.! Hundreds of men have died and/or lost limbs to give that freedom. If you thought that gas was starting to cost an arm and a leg, freedom always has, and is still to this day being paid for with the lives of humans!

No one said freedom is free! I am a liberal, and my grandfathers, father, uncles, and cousins all were in the armed forces (three of my cousins are in Iraq). I also have friends over there risking their lives so you can look like an ignoramous on the internet. I don't like that they are over there risking their lives, but I respect that they are there, and I am supporting them. How DARE you assume that liberals think that things are handed to them! As I see it, you are the one that is very short sighted and closed minded (like a true Republican should be).

What is it that you people just pull stuff like this out of your ***? I don't know any Democrats that believe freedom is free. The problems is that Republicans believe you have to have enough money to buy your freedom. Ok, that was way too over-inclusive. I should say, many republicans.

Freedom is free. Human selfishness and greed are the only reasons that freedom has a blood price all too often. Don't be brainwashed,be the change!! Peace.

Are you kidding me? I have to assume you are riding the GOP bandwagon and because of that I'm going to try and treat you with "kid gloves" as much as I can. Benjamin Franklin wrote "He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither" and if you are referring to the way George Bush and his crew of criminals has hi-jacked this country in the name of "freedom" I would ask you to consider that statement. You're chances of being killed by a terrorist are lower than being struck by lighting.

I don't even know why I'm responding to your idiotic question. This is not a Red State vs. Blue State thing... it's about saving our way of life.

I think they know. That's why the ACLU defends the rights of white supremacists to march, and why they need to charge and try Guantanamo prisoners. That's the cost of having priniciples -- you have to uphold them even when you don't enjoy it.

As for the Founders, I'm sure you're familiar with the sentiment that "those who would trade fundamental liberty for a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

That is precisely true. That's why they demonize the military and try to do away with it because it is not needed in their eyes. Honesty, you have to wonder how shallow these people really are. I think they are in an alternative universe. Their mind wonders in a liberal socialist/communist utopia. Too many drugs.
