It is not the thing that lets you copy a lot of stuff, it does not just do it when I copy past stuff, it does it all the time.

Ok, I'm still getting it. If you go under the edit button and go to past its that icon that I keep getting (the same icon next to the word past under edit). If I click on it it does not go away or move. I just want it gone!

Go to Edit menu and open Office Clipboard option, then it shows a panel, at the bottom of the panel, it will have options button click on it and turn off the listed options there, may be your problem will be solved.
Hope it may help you, these options are in Word 2002.

You may be taking about the Office Assistant.( the beige color sticker like thing )
Just click on "Carryon using Word " and it will disappear.
U can also right mouse click and select hide ( this will make it dissapear )
to call it back click in ? icon at the toolbar.
Really sometimes when software get too smart they get irritating.
( or was it the programmer? )

Do you mean the "office assistant" that looks like a paper clip (or a dog etc)?
If so, go to "help" in the tool bar on the top. It should say "show office assistant". Click on it and then it will say "hide office assistant"

the clipboard is so that you can copy more than one thing and then paste whicheve ones you want. you can move it over, by clicking and dragging at top, or there should be a small x in top right to close it.
