Outlook is NOT a mail server - it is a mail CLIENT. You configure outlook to download mail from a server someplace. You need to know POP3 and SMTP settings in order to send and recieve messages

You should not need an IP address - an IP address will work - but it's uncommmon that it is used for this. What you want is the server name-

Depending on your provider it may be as easy as -
POP.comcast.com - for incoming server
smtp.comcast.com - for outgoing

You should be able to go to your internet provider's website and type in POP or SMTP in the search to get to the right name.

To set it up in Oultook go to Tools, email accounts (then new or edit depending on where you are at) enter your name, email address and the two server names and hit the test button, you should be good to go. Good Luck.
