Sure! It will be re-played! Sure! In your dreams!

"Shivers": it seems to me that you are little biased on watching the Italian games.
Please read the following information.

Italy vs. Ghana 2-0
Italy 18 shots - 13 shots on goals - 8 fouls
Ghana 14 shots - 4 shots on goals - 22 fouls

Italy vs. USA 1-1
Italy 10 shots - 3 shots on goals - 13 fouls
USA 8 shots - 0 shots on goals - 24 fouls

Italy vs. Czech Republic 2-0
Italy 14 shots - 6 shots on goals - 17 fouls
Czech R. 11 shots - 8 shots on goals - 18 fouls

Italy vs Australia 1-0
Italy 11 shots - 6 shots on goals - 17 fouls
Australia 8 shots - 4 shots on goals - 26 fouls

Italy vs Ukraine 3-0
Italy 10 shots - 7 shots on goals - 15 fouls
Ukraine 13 shots - 7 shots on goals - 31 fouls

Italy vs Germany 2-0
Italy 15 shots - 10 shots on goals - 19 fouls
Germany 13 shots - 2 shots on goals - 21 fouls

Italy vs. France 5-3
Italy 5 shots - 3 shots on goals - 17 fouls
France 13shots - 5 shots on goals - 24 fouls

Now, your opinion of Italy playing "...defending and killing the game off if they get the chance..." it is not what the numbers say and what most of the critics have said since Lippi has been the Italian coach. It is a statement out of the context.
That was true before, but Lippi has changed the Italian way of playing. Yet, you are insisting on something that it is not true (and the numbers confirm that)
Also, remember how Greece has won the Euro Cup!
Remember how Arsenal and Liverpool have reached the Champions League finals. Look on how England plays! Or France plays! Or many other winning Teams! THEY ALL PLAY like the Italians have played in the past! Defending with 11 men (like you said) and couter-attacking. That is NOT how the Italian played in this World Cup (included the qualifications)
Italians "are not too happy to admit" what you wrongly are saying: Italians (like me) are surprised that there are people watching games with "the past" over their eyes, without being un-biased on watching the most beautiful sport in the world.

That is preposterous!!!There is no reason for the match to be replayed. I was disappointed that Italy won, but that's the way it is. Even if Zidane had played the rest of the match, he only had 10 minutes to score. And knowing that the Italians enjoy defending with 11 men as though the goal was their golden egg and effectively killing the game, I doubt the French would have been able to score. And since penalty shootouts is a matter of luck, the Italians were luckier this time around; that's it. The French made their mistake at the start of the match; when they scored on penalty they should have continued controlling the mid-field and attacking instead of playing the "Italian" game of sitting back and defending such a pitiful result....So stupid...

To "7": Just making your answer more complete: Their authentic style of football is defending and killing the game off if they get the chance...Everyone knows (accept the Italians who are too happy to admit it) that if Italy scores first, they will surely defend with 11 men and kill the game; they tried doing that in the Euro 2000 final and ended up losing, so.. even though Italians have lots of fashion style, they don't have any football style whatsoever (they did in 1990, but have lost it since).

Even if Materazzi was found guilty of racial abuse, FIFA won't replay the final. Materazzi will be suspended for 5 matches and fined 6,600 Euros. That's what an Italian sports paper was reporting today.

A French lawyer, however, has asked to hear the side referee. They want to make sure that he didn't watch the incident (Zidane headbutting Materazzi) on the screen, because that would be against Fifa rules. But Fifa officially stated that Zidane's sending off was regular because the side referee had witnessed the incident with his own eyes.

The final match could be replayed only if the side referee had seen the incident on video. That is not the case, however, so it will not be replayed.

Personally, I would not like to see a replay of the Finals. Despite all the on-going soreness, disputes, unhappiness that came into light after the Finals. If there is a replay (I pray not), this could set a precedent and the flood gates and calls for replays would be endless. What then would the "World Most Beautiful Game" become? Ugly, Unsporting and Pretentious ... making grown man look like kidergarten boys? .. I truely hope that would not happen.

It will not be replayed because the game was won, fair and square. The little side issue with Zizou being ejected is just that, a side issue, and after the fact. Perhaps Materazzi will be suspended for a few games if it can be proven that he said what the media is reporting. Nevertheless, the rules do not say you can headbut someone in certain situations. Zizou is one of the all-time greats, but he lost his cool, and now he and his team have paid a price.

Give Italy their respect. They had the best defense in the World Cup, they involved all of their players in scoring(not just the stars), and they do it with their own authentically Italian style of football.

Forza Italia!!!!!!!!!!!

yea i additionally heard that the french are taking this to court docket, and in my opinion i needed france to win the experience, and that i additionally like the thought that there must be a rematch, yet i heavily doubt that fifa might enable the worldwide CUP very final to be performed back. despite if there became into concrete evidence that the ref had appeared at replays to get Zidane out of the activity, the ruling might stand and the decide does not enable a rematch. even nonetheless, in the event that they do get a rematch, then different video games could have the prospect to get rematches, inclusive of Korea vs. Switzerland. we are able to for sure see in this activity that the ref had referred to as offsides as shown in the replays yet then differences his suggestions and calls the objective honest. If this activity have been a rematch, then the different activity might could be replayed via fact the result might substitute the pairings of something of the video games and can reason chaos.

tell me that's this is a joke!

it'll be a precedent if this replay is ordered by the courts... but by which court? the international court? and if this happens then it'll be in 2010 or after that, what with appeals and appeals and postponements, etc...

this'll NEVER happen!

even the french coach said "Zidane would normally take one of the first penalties in a shoot-out but his not being there didn't change much" which meant that with or without ZZ, trezeguet would have missed!

Willy SAGNOL (FRA) said: "I didn't see what Zizou did, but I don't think that it changed the course of the match."

the bottom line? NO REPLAY!

To Cyril, Yeah your right, but it won't be the final, it will be a cheap Euro '08 qualifier which we wish France the best of luck. Maybe seeing 4 stars on Italy's shirt (compared to just one lonely star on frances) might give them inspiration on how to win.

And by the way, Italy don't suck, they are the world champions
they have a nice shiney trophey (designed by an Italian, so it's home where it belongs) to prove it.
