i got in an accident about a month ago. now i have a scar on my chin. about an inch under my bottom lip. it runs straight across sideways... it took ten stitches. its kind of red. and bugs me. meaning, im kinda self concious about it.... is a facial scar ugly?

I'm sorry to hear about your accident but I'm glad you are OK. Esoterica is the name of the cream my mom bought for me when I had half of my face scraped off. Aloe Vera plant is also good and vitamin e capsules. You can't even tell. Of course with stitches the scar is gonna take time to heal.If you are really bothered by it and want a great cover up that covers everything! I mean EVERYTHING then go to jcpenny's and buy some Dermablend. I use to use that when I worked in a club I had to cover up some tattoos. Works great and if you pick the right shade it looks very natural. Good luck! I'm sure you look just beautiful the way you are. Oh yeah try to keep out of the sun. Scars are delicate tissue and can burn easy.

That is not too bad, I got a real bad one, same thing, being stupid, it did fade with time, and as was said grow some hair on it, won't take a full beard, just a bit more than a soul patch will do it. Like I say, mine is much worse, and it's better now... 20 years later, but it's better, oh, probably because one of times I split it open again that doc sewed it up better, the first time I was so drunk, I think I p!$$'d the doc off, he didn't do such a good job, and I flinched a lot, I was too drunk for anesthetic, first job was bad, 3rd doc was a pro about it, yeah

No, its not like you can help it. I dont think it matters. Plus I know I a lot of guys that have a scar on their face and are still cute. I have got stitches under my chin. If its red now it will go skin color again. Just relax and dont worry about it.

I don't think a facial scar is ugly. However, if you're that self conscious about it maybe you should try some Mederma, vitamin E oil, or cocoa butter to help the scar fade away. Don't worry about it, it's not that big of a deal. :)

not ugly! no...but, for the scar to heal as good as possible for you...massage neosporin or mederma into scar every night. massaging it is best, it promotes blood flow to the scar which helps to heal better. it usually takes about a year for a scar to fully heal too.

If any decent girl comes along you will know, they arnt going to care about it. Also some girls tend to think it adds character, so u could attract rather than scare off girls!

it wouldnt bother me. try mederma. but once you use mederma you have to keep at it for a few months. it's definitely worth it in the end result though.
