I would like to do creative writing in the Minneapolis area, but have had trouble finding employment in that field. I do not want a journalism job. Any ideas?

I am a creative writing major so I know what you are going through. There are not any "creative writing jobs" that I am aware of, besides that of being an actual writer. I think the best bet would be to find a job that you can enjoy in another field while you try to make it as a writer. Try submitting short stories to magazines to start with.

You can register with freelance directory sites.
This will give you the opportunity to take on some small projects and build a reputation as a writer.
