If you start a chat with a complete stranger, what kinds of things would you discuss with him/her?

And how far do you believe would you let the conversation go? Have you made friends at chat-rooms and then actually met them personally (like in 6-months)?

I've been using the Internet for nearly 15 years and I've never been in a chat room, so my advice is to stay away from them as they will probably lead to danger.

I would stay on topic of the chat room. If it was about movies, then I'd talk about movies, and so on. I would immediately ignore anyone who started off the whole "A/S/L" thing *rolls eyes*

Certainly not from the first chat. I'd have to at least wait a few months of knowing them and slowing starting to talk abuot toher things (not too personal, but so we actually become friends and not aquaintances). However, never go alone to me an online friend if you can. Always have a friend go with you (either obviously or just have them nearby) and always go to a public place.
