In my youth, when I still believed in things like the devil: For reasons unbeknown to me, I called out the devil. I figured what could he do to me.

That evening, in my sleep, Lucifer showed up. I found myself confronting him, inside a concrete room; a room much like a racket ball court, except it lacked any way out. We circled each other a bit, and then he gave me a push. I tried to push him back, but my hands went right through him. I immediately knew I was in trouble. I couldn't do anything to him, while he could.

He then showed me just how much power he had over me: He leaped into my body, Just like, in the movie "Matrix". Then he flung himself against the concrete wall, along with me. I was beaten to a pulp, tossed like a rag doll, against every wall and the floor. When the pain was more than I could tolerate, I woke up.

I tried to go back to sleep, but just as soon as I did, I would find myself right back in that room: face to face with Satan and soon plastered, on the walls, sliding, to the floor. This repeated itself for several hours. I had to get some sleep, so I pulled out a not so secrete weapon, known to destroy most any evil spirit. I said a few "Our Fathers", and that was the end of that beast.

Well, There you have it. I hope you enjoyed this hellish account: Brought forth, from the depths of my imagination.

Pleasant dreams, and don't let the bed demons fright.

This was a reoccuring nightmare of my childhood, and I'm pretty sure it's the reason that, to this day, I have acrophobia [fear of heights].

My dream was that it was the 4th of July, and all of my family and I were up on top of my uncle's house, on his roof, to watch the fireworks. In my dream, I slip and fall. No one sees me or hears me because they are all watching the fireworks, and the noise from the fireworks drowns out any cry for help, or scream, I make.

No matter how long this dream lasted, I fell. The ground would never seem to be any closer, no matter how long or how far I seemed to fall; and it felt like I would fall for eternity. I would wake up shaking, sweating, and screaming from this dream every time.

The idea of falling still terrifies me to this day, and even ladders are an effort for me to deal with.

I've tried to overcome this fear, even daring myself to ride roller coasters, ferris wheels, or other rides, or glass elevators.

Funnily enough, flying in airplanes doesn't seem to bother me. I think because I can't see how far up it really is. Only the landing part scares me, cause then I get all frightened that the brakes or the landing gear won't work.

I had watched Texas Chain Saw Massacer for the first time and then I fell asleep. I woke up a few hours later from my own scream covered in sweat because I was dreaming I was the girl getting her head beat in with the hammer and they were about to eat me alive.

As a child this dream occurred a few times. I had to walk down a tree-lined street from a baseball game back to my house. The problem was that the devil was waiting for me somewhere on the road...but I had to walk down it.

While in college at Valparaiso U. I used to run at night in the Indiana country side just off campus. One portion of the run was through a heavily wooded area. This dream used to return to me as I would run through there at night and it definitely improved my time.

A few years ago, I had a strange dream about an election. There were hanging chads, lies to elderly people, a brother who was govenor of the state in question...that was some nightmare! : )

The stupid slasher movie ritual - driving a car when something popped up from the backseat! Could not wake myself up - one of those "half dream, half awake" states.

The one where I watched my daughter die and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it. One of the few times I woke up screaming.
