First of all, had I been President, I would have never authorized an illegal and unconstitutional war on another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the U.S.A.
But, under the circumstances, I'd start an immediate withdrawal of troops so that were all home for Christmas. We are only there for all that OIL; the lives of innocent Iraqi citizens, Iraqi soldiers, and U.S. soldiers aren't worth all that OIL 9of course, Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld would see it differently, I'm sure). -RKO-

Its not fair to ask this now that Dubya has messed it all up.

But, I think we should cut our losses the way Nixon did in Viet Nam--declare our work done, call it Iraqization, turn the whole mess over to the Iraqi government and bring our troops home.

Let the civil war that is already happening there run its course and then deal with the eventual Iran/Afghanistan that results in Iraq.

Bush made a whopping mistake (but not a mistake from the standpoint of his personal profit and agenda) that is going to take generations to fix and the US is never going to see a break on oil prices as a result of this undeclared war, but it will be dealing with Iraqi hostility after the Shiites and Sunnis kill enough of each other and the Mullahs get control of the place.

I say get out now before the casualties continue to mount.

First, I would try to give to international court those guilty in starting this aggression. This would show that we are serious about this. Then I and my team would cooperate strongly with UN and countries not involved in aggression, so that we could be replaced as soon as possible and as much as possible with international temporary piece corps, which also fairly fast would pass power to whatever government is formed. Yes, Iraq will be probably more religious fundamentalist country now, worse that it was before aggression, but it seems impossible to do better after what is done by us. Anyway, while you are not president yet, you can check out http://www.impeachbush.org

I would pretty much follow the course we are on now. John Kerry said he would do the same thing when he was running for pres. The only thing I would do differently is to communicate the cause of our mission more often and more effectively (I'm a pretty good speaker, W isn't), and I wouldn't cow-tow to the press who is going to hate everything we do to project American power, no matter what. As Toby Keith sang, we'll put a boot in your a s s, its the American way!

Not start a pointless war in the first place, of course.

And, if I thought we should go to war, I'd do my research about WMD's in other countries and the like before sending troops over to die for a hopeless cause I'm not even sure exists.

God bless America, indeed.

Eat Crow and negotiate with the U.N. to bring in legitimate peace keepers and get U.S. troops out within the next 60 days. Promise financial support for 18 more months maximum. Time for us to be out.

NO- The war musn't end! If we don't do something about the **** over there...no one else will. We must continue to fight the war on terror. If I were President, I'd do EXACTLY what Bush is doing. He's a wonderful President.

I wouldn't end the war. I'd continue it and step it up even more. I'd carpet-bomb the entire middle east and kill millions of terrorists and other towelheads who are trying to acquire nuclear weapons.

Screw em
