Well, first I would piss and moan for about the first 15 minutes until I found all the flashlights...then I would attempt to call the electric company. Once I found out it was a global problem I would freak out for at least an hour then find all the battery operated, oil, and Coleman lamps that I have. I would then proceed to the nearest super center and buy all the necessities that my family and I would need to survive and bounce the biggest check in history and go live as the Amish do!

Gone for a day? Gone forever? For a day or week, just live on the food in my freezer and pantry. Keep my weapons close by for those who don't have any food and want all of mine.
If electricity stops altogether, come join me in the woods and I'll teach you to hunt and gather!

One thing I can say to the credit of this generation and that goes all the way up to our system of government and police forces is that we have a generation that wouldnt see fit to start a riot merely because of a blackout. Whereas just 30 or so years ago that would be a wonderful excuse to go out and break stuff and start fires.
