The calculus of friendship is complex,
The variable's to vast and wide to chart,
But no equation solving x for x,
Can change the mathematics of the heart,
At first I only saw you with my eyes,
A purge of fire that forged a gaze of steel,
As if to my own self I could disguise,
The truths that are too painful to reveal,
But you saw me with eyes that bore within,
To places hidden secret from plain view,
And did not run nor judge where I had been,
Accepting me more the more that you knew,
But in those eyes your secret I can tell,
Is that you see,
So you will be seen as well.

I don't know if you wrote this, or if not, who did, but if they correct this line:

"The variable's to vast and wide to chart," to read,
"The variables too vast and wide to chart,"

then they are doing pretty damned good, in my opinion.

Good work.

That is my opinion, for what it's worth. :-))

A few little problems here and there ('variables' s/b plural, not possessive, 'to' s/b 'too', and the last two lines s/b one line - 14 lines in a sonnet), but the rhythm is mostly consistent, the rhymes are natural and the meanings and word choices are interesting. I would guess this is not yours, because you would not have made these mistakes if you had written a poem this sophisticated. It should have the author's name at the bottom if it's not yours.

I dont know bout the best, but i do like it. If u take out the first 4 lines, then its pretty good. Those 4 lines dosnt really fit with the rest of the piece. It feels like 2 diff. themes bein put 2gether. If u were to take the 4 lines and make a whole piece with that flow, it may sound like a good play on words type of thing.
