My friend and I have planned to go on a short back packing trip to India. We want to cover the more prominent and prolific landmarks in the country. We planned to start our trip with a 3 day tour to the Golden triangle then head down south to AP, then to Tamil Nadu, then Kerala, Bangalore, Goa then Mumbai.. Based on this route... any suggestions as to where we can go? And also any advises on accommendation?

You are trying to cover a lot in 15 days and would end up tired and during the last leg of your journey it would be a rush situation, if you want to get a good feel and have long lasting memory, you should spend good amount of time in india, best would be to finish , Golden traingle in 5 days, fly down to kerala spend another 5 days there and then come to Goa and relax for 3-4 days and then catch an internationa flight from Mumbai, but with Mumbai you have to be very well aware about the climatic condition becoz if it rains then you may end up loosing on flight

Well, India is very cheap in terms of food and accomodation, so you may not feel the pinch of budget in this trip. But only suggestion I would like to make, if possible, there is another small golden triangle---Bhubaneswar, Puri, Konark--not to be missed.
