Once you establish your "voice" on the local spoken word scene, then you can start booking featured readings, followed by book signings. If there's a local public radio station in your area, inquire about featured interviews. Send press kits to your local newspapers.

I would set up a website to sell them. There are still free ones out there. Get set up to take Paypal for payment so you don't have to deal with credit cards or wait for checks in the mail.

Go to your local bookstore/coffee shop/restaurant and have a reading one night. If you are nervous about find someone else who also is a poet to be with you.

Get a local newpaper reporter to interview you, and make sure you mention your website. People assume that newsreporters find their own stories, but believe me, most appreciate a phone call or email to let them know about an interesting story line.

I have had good luck with the Delphi Forums www.delphiforums.com --find a forum for writers, and talk with the other writers/poets there. You may be able to do some promotion of your book there, also, but it will help to network with other people in your situation.
