I didn't know if it was just a one time thing, or if all men are without one of their ribs. Please enlighten me!

Both sexes generally have 12 pairs of ribs, but occasionally some leople of either sex are born with 13 or 11 pairs. The exact number of pairs are governed by a group of genes called the "homeobox" complex, which all animals above jellyfish share in common. The same gene complex that decides how many pairs of legs a centipede will be born with and the number of body rings that an earthworm will have are all governed by this gene complex. This indicates to biologists that we are all descended from a common ancestor that first manefested this gene complex.

Men just have one less rib on both sides. Men also lack a bone in the arm that women have.

We have just as many ribs as you girls do. Adam, the first man, was created with all his ribs, but God took one out and used it to create Eve.
