Why would we want to stop them if they have a successful economy going?
Most ppl educated on what communism really is agree that it is a much better idea than capitalism but most also go on to say that is normally fails due to basic human nature... greed, being power hungry, etc...
If the Chinese have found a way to make it work then more power to them. What's the problem?
Oh wait it just hit me, you are one of those that are threatened by anything different than what you have being more successful. Sorry my bad.
Funny how ppl claim China is no longer a communist state when they simply altered some of their economics to adjust to past commuist failures... which by definition of communism - betterment of the whole is communism. Based on this logic we are no longer a capitalist economy because we allow our corporations to violate free market monopoly laws when they dictate to distributors what price they will pay rather than letting the free market supply and demand determine it. China is too big has a huge military and nukes of it's own.
The US can't do anything - You will notice they leave Russia alone to . HMMMM
Mutually assured destruction means that China and Russia get to do what they want to and no one gets in there way. The little countries just get traded off between the big powers. So the US took Iraq that means China might take Tiawan or Russia can do as it pleases with Checnia etc.
The Boar war was fought between the English and the Dutch over who got South Africa.
As a person once said today is a day we remember all those who died to keep India British or South Africa British or Hong Kong etc

Nothing. No matter how bad their weapons are either - they are over 1 billion - and want to shed 300 million - they wouldn't even blink to send them to war against us on our own soil.
In addition, Chinese/Asian account for 1/2 the world's population.
Like the USA for democracy, the empire that is opposite in ideals is China.
I wonder who's got the cahonies to tell China about Bush's upcoming New World Order in 2010 and they have to give up their soveregnty too.

What? Why wouldn't they be in power? Why should the US stop them, hell every one of us are building them bigger each day. Keep shopping at Walmart and look for the "made in China" label. We are building China to the level of power it has today. They are growing leaps and bounds, and their demand for oil is growing right along with. That is the reason for the high gasoline prices. Do your part to quit building a communist nation. You have more power as a consumer than the President has on this issue.

The U.S. can't stop the Chinese government from doing anything. China is our biggest creditor. If we rankle them, they cut off our line of credit, and - POW! - we're out of business. China will then just come over and take whatever they want: weapons of mass destruction; real estate; military hardware; assets; cash; oil, coal, gas; ore; aluminum; even our women to work as concubines if that's what they want. Since our country will be bankrupt, we won't be able to finance an army to fight them off (sort of like the Russians' situation today). -RKO-

The people fear the government and we should continue to sell to China because the more the people see of what we have the more they will want it.
