Honda is the last word in reliability. Sportbikes are high-revers that usually see a lot of abuse.

"Honda cruisers" is your answer.

Hey, I like Hondas ... great machines. Most of the Japanese machines are good, well-built rides. Harleys and their ilk hold their value (for now), but are not "reliable" even when brand new. Most Eurobikes are high-performance, beautiful, and as temperamental as an Italian mistress ... they need constant attention to be as beautiful, exciting and sexy as they are.
For reliability and longevity, get a BMW. They are famous, not for "performance" - even though an R90S won Daytona back in the day - but because they go on and on and on and on forever. That's why all of Europe, South America and parts of the US use them for police rides ... they are bulletproof.
I have an R80/7 from 1978 with 100,000 miles on the original engine. I have seen R1100RSs with 300,000 miles on the clock. Beemers last, and can be trusted to get you where you are going.

I believe that 99% of the time reliability is attributable to operator abuse. My machines last for ever cause I buy them new and take proper care of them.

Most people I hear from would tell you new Jap cruiser.
