You get out of your car to pump some gas, but you noticed suddenly the gas station is closed. You start to climb into your car when another car arrives and out steps someone you knew very well 10 years ago, but haven't seen him/her during the 10 year period. What is your first response?

This really did happen to my husband some time after he had gotten out of the Army. It was difficult to see the gas station was closed from the main road, and he was taking a chance. This happened over thrity years ago and he still marvels at the occurance.

Some of these people are just ridiculous.

I too have been at gas stations that I did not realize until I pulled up that they were closed. Shoot some of those places are more lit up after they close than they were when they were open.

In a case like this I do not know how I would react.First of all people change. It is night and dark and isolated. My safety comes first even if it was someone that I knew well. So that would probably be my initial reaction. But then again to me in a situation like that obviously it was meant to be so I would probably embrace it and at least talk to the person and try to exchange information for a future meeting.

Okay, so it was difficult to see the gas station was closed from the main road. But could it not be determined until you were actually at the pump and out of the car? I'd say we're talking a serious vision problem here. Not only should you not be driving but with that poor vision I would imagine this "stranger from the past" was not who he thought he was either.

first and maximum helpful, basic on the gasoline, basic on the brake. the biggest gasoline use is accelerating from a end, to any velocity. attempt to seize the lights, stay away from end and bypass. whilst shifting alongside safeguard a sluggish p.c... ideally preserving the throttle stable is greater considerable than stable velocity. enable hills paintings for you. Cruise administration on hilly roads is a nasty theory. the vehicle will enhance the throttle to bypass up, enable off coming down. lower back the stable throttle is larger. Use your ultimate judgment of direction. shop the vehicle gentle, do no longer haul a ton of stuff around with you. verify the tire stress. Low tire stress could make considerable will enhance in gasoline utilization. (some vehicles worse than others) using slower helps. It takes X gasoline to bypass X weight X velocity, there isn't any way around that. do no longer run the A/C till you somewhat want it. And remember in many automobiles the A/C runs on defrost/defog.

Say hello. Hug them if your relationship calls for it. Shoot the breeze for a second, and maybe make plans to meet some other time so you can get the heck out of dodge. It is the middle of the night after all. No telling what's lurking in the dark. . .

A pleasant surprise if I liked the person or hurry-up and get the hell away if I didn't care for them much. It's great to run into people you would really like to see or haven't thought of in a while, especially since I had just had a crappy day.

mabe its your husband's "x" way back, thats why he still marvels at it. or its just chance for them to meet again to resolve some unfinished business. just say hi and casually invite him/her to have something to eat. and to talk and to reminsce of the good old days!
