YES, having worked in the garment industry, you wouldn't believe the things I have seen done to cloth before it is cut into the garments we wear. There are also chemicals placed on the fabrics and finished goods to help keep them clean, looking new, bug and animal free and dust free while in transport to our stores. These chemicals do not always work as they are intended to and bugs and animals sometimes get onto and into them before we do. There have been documented cases of people wearing clothes that were infected with mouse urine and droppings and they have become deathly sick and some may have died form the disease these varmints leave behind. Not to mention what and who has handled the items we buy before we get them.

Definitely YES!!!! You don't know where it came from, it could have been on a floor in some factory, not to mention sitting in those big dirty trucks while being shipped, and God only knows what kind of people may have tried it on before you bought it. You should absolutely wash new clothes before you wear them. (Yeah I know I'm a little OCD about this subject, but at least you always know my clothes are always fresh)

if it is new then it makes me feel rich to wear it straight away with out washing
like a shirt coming out of the box and plastic wrappings

if they are clothes bought in a bazaar that hang around ,and thousands of hippies may have tried it on first ,the answer is yes.

You should because you never know who has worn it before you. Another problem is that some of the dyes that are used can be irritating to sensetive skin. Be sure to wash separately so that they fresh dyes don't stain your other clothing.

yes, always.

i wouldn't want other people to try on the clothes in my closet before i wear them, so why would i want to wear clothes that strangers have worn without washing?

Yes, besides sweat shirts because I like them to stay fuzzy, but I definitely wash underwear and bathing suits.

I used to wash stiff jeans before wearing, but now I don't even do that. I'm not too fussy--if dirty laundry hurt anybody, I would already be dead.

No, even if the label says to wash first.

Absolutely! I'm a germaphobe and I couldn't stand to think that someone dirty, unwashed, foul smelling had previously worn my "new" garments. Eww! The thought disgusts me.
