I agree with most answers, baby will crawl in her/his own time. You can however gently encourage this by finding out what baby's absolute favorite toy is, and by placing this just out of reach.
Remember that baby will start using muscles that have never been used before, so do try to give baby extra massage time once they start crawling, walking. Most important of all: enjoy every stage (once baby is mobile and trying to throw your mobile phone in the toilet, you will long for the days when baby was not even crawling yet!). Have fun...

I was freaking out for months about my baby not crawling. All of my family members crawled around 6-7 months as well as his friends at daycare. He finally got up and crawled at 10 months..that was 2 weeks ago. now he is pulling himself up and climbing and starting to let go and stand on his own..dont let it worry you. ur baby will crawl soon enough.

I used to keep the baby in a bouncy seat so she wouldn't crawl around and I swear that hampered her development. Don't keep the baby in an exersaucer or bouncy seat too much and he/she will be more inclined to crawl. It was no big disaster, my baby just crawled and walked a few months later than most.

You can't. Most babies will crawl eventually (some never do). Average age for them to start is 6-11 months (see sources section below).

I agree with everyone else, your baby will crawl when s/he is ready to. Just be sure to give them plenty of floor time, rather than holding them too much, so s/he can explore and play. Your baby will be taking off before you know it..

Your baby will crawl when he is ready. Don't be in a hurry mom, you will be chasing him soon enough. Unless the baby has been diagnosed with developmental delays, just relax, he will be curtain climbing soon enough!

They crawl when they are ready. To increase upper body strength give him/her plenty of belly time when awake and place a rolled up towel under the arms to support them and make them try to raise up.
