IF Aliens zapped all animals and they started to speak and became intelligent, would they also have rights?

Suppose this happens

All animals begin to speak with intelligence and understanding

Would we still eat them?
keeep them as rights?
will they be protected by the constitution?

What what happen to the price of beef? Of course the speaking cows would criminilize that

Should all animals then be included in the bill of rights?
Could they sue The world for mass genocide against animals?

Oh and How will PETA react to this?
Anything is possible so please tell me what you think

Well, I'm already vegetarian and believe that they deserve basic rights to begin with, but as for things such as voting and such- I'm pretty sure humans would be more concerned with where the heck the aliens came from and why they did what they did.

They are capable of understanding and speaking in their own right, but I'm assuming you mean like humans and in English? Or whatever language is most common in their area? I think there would be a huge uproar, with lots of debating, but in the end, I think they would deserve more rights....It's an impossible question to answer though, because there's just too many variables.

PETA would probably be upset though, lol, because someone would finally be able to say from experience that what they do most often hurts more than helps.

we would be forced to kill and eat them all and breed them to be stupid again We need this important source of protein NO they wouldnt be protected under constitution or bill of rights because it is every man is created equal PETA is stupid I am in another kind of PETA People for Eating Tasty Animals beef would still be cheap because we would keep breeding them and butchering them no big deal they are not tortured anyway Beef tastes good

The only thing that would be on most animals minds is play,Eat, sleep, and have sex occasionally. they don't really care for Emotional things or rights. Because in their mind they were raised in a backyard and a backyard or whatever is freedom to them. Like one time our golden retriever escaped from the backyard and our maid found him laying on the grass in the front yard.

I will not eat a sentient being.. hehe... come to think of it, eventhough they still cannot communicate with us at our level, we still let them have rights.. don't we? so speaking or not, its the same. but they may never join any UN function, unless they establish a zoo nation!!
