Hands down, it is Russell Crowe. Look at his body of work, he has played all types of people, equally well. I have yet to see anything less than a stellar performance out of the guy. Name one bad acting job you've ever seen him do. You can't.
Tom Hanks was for a long time, but the last few choices he's made have been pretty strange. It's like he's just picking bizarre characters now just to see if he can pull it off.
