I agree,
Clinton actually got a lot of buisness support for Univer. Healthcare, Why? Because it would free up so much capital that business could reinvest and compete better.
but its hard to make the case to people who only see the world in black in white.
for example, health care is a moral and compassionate act.
But the first thing you'll hear out of the opposition is socialism.
Instead of addressing the problem
secondly....the current administration is not an honest broker with the interest of the people and health care......
just look at the Patriot Act.......it had a provision to protect drug company Eli Lilly from lawsuits. WFT?!!!
and secondly.......
The last medicare bill was too complicated for seniors and gave away the nations bargaining power away to the pharmaceuticals............

Well, health care is an important issue, but it doesn't give the Republicans a chance to play with guns.
They'd rather puff up their machismo and act like 'toughs' going after all the 'bad guys' - and there's plenty of 'em now that it's a police state and all citizens are presumed guilty until proven innocent.
It's the only way they can prove their manhood.
So who cares if people die because there's no national healthcare system in this country? It's a helluva lot more fun to see blood spew from a body once you've gunned 'em down with an AK-47. God bless the NRA! -RKO-

Our Constitution lists the specific duties of the Federal Government. Health care ain't on the list, and it doesn't qualify as a national security issue.. National defense is in the Constitution, along with delivering the mail, and holding a census once every ten years.
State governments are free to provide heathcare. I think all the states help to one degree or another.
Next, you'll be wanting the government to provide free food, or to send someone over to wipe the snot from your nose...

National security is something that the average citizen cannot effectively impact with individual action. It requires a government to implement.
Health care on the other hand, can definitey be provided by the person for his/her family. It's as "easy" as getting a job that has medical and dental.
Since people can provide for their own healthcare, the idea of having the government provide it for us is undesireable for the greedy, heartless, bastards that have the audacity to call themselves Christians.
I mean... Neocons.

yes it's important, but funding healthcare has become a huge difficulty. actually healthcare would be easier to afford if we don't end up funneling millions of dollars to treat some comatose 90 year-old man with dying kidneys, dying lungs, and a dying heart.
but because of ethical reasons, we treat to beat out every last second of life from his body. most of out healthcare costs are in the last few years of our life...the working class and everyone else should be easily covered if we did not spend even just half as much on such (practically dead) individuals. not to be mean...it's just if u have limited funds, then we need to spend it more wisely...even if it means to learn to accept death (of those who will be dying very soon anyway).

Yes it should but as long as the repuke's are in power nothing will be done to rein in the horrible profits that the Pharmaceutical and insurance company's make. It should be a national issue, and all we have to do to see a successful system is look to the north and even copy it.

Healthcare is about giving us protection against costly medical bills. National Security is about preventing terrorists from attacking us again. I don't see how the two are related.

One of Americas biggest killers is people falling asleep at the wheel.
Redpublicans want to cut worker benefits and increase the work day to 12 hours. Right now thousands of people are nodding out from fatigue while driving home after work.
I think the Redpublicans are trying to kill us.

You can go to any Emergency room in this country and get health care. Is this your way of trying to convince me of socializing our medicine? Have you seen how awful government programs run? I wouldn't put my trust in that system. The governments hands are in by pocket deep enough thank you.
