The whole thing evolves around supply side economics. Give the rich a fish he will put it in the fridge. Give a poor person a fish and he will have to eat it. Because the fridge is empty. When you cut taxes for the very rich it is like trying to lift something from the top. In order to get every thing to move you have got to lift from the bottom. Since Herbert Hover not one repuglican has got it. The best economy ever was during the times when the democrats were in office and taxed the rich and invested in the poor. But you will never in your life see a repuke admit it.

1. - Capitalism at it's finest....buy now, pay later.

2. - This economy reminds me of Reaganomics all over again.
Bush Sr. tried to guise it as "Trickle Down Economics"
Now W has revived all of this deficit spending during his presidency. When W rambles on about the moon, Mars and high tech missile defense systems it reminds me of Reagan's star wars mumbo jumbo. What Reagan succeeded at was bankrupting the Soviet Union at the cost of the average middle class tax payer. We were able to catch up a little with Slick Willie, but W managed to snow the public with that $350/$600 refund check of a rare surplus.

3. - I see the US becoming another Soviet Union of the 80's. We are going to bankrupt ourselves with the war on terror like the SU had to spend to "keep up" with the US on the Cold War effort.

4. - FOX is right wing propaganda at it's finest. Fear mongers like O'Rilley stir their base to throw of the public to real issues. CNN,MSN,etc. just state the obvious and do not have any real insight.

5. - The Dems are in big trouble since they have no leadership or solid foundation. Hillary?? give me break...she's just riding off of Bill's coattails. Kerry blah, Dean next...maybe Wesley Clark.

6. - We are spending wasteful amounts on the war on drugs too but save that for another format.

It's $78/barrel not $76. American's don't pan ahead. There was a congressman from AR, Asa Hutchinson, that said back in the '80's that we needed to look for alternative fuel sources. He was laughed outta office.

About 25G, no fox news unless it is being mocked.

I think you're right. Less like a depression though and more like an overall societal decline.

I would not want to be handing this off to my kids but someday, if it doesn't start getting better soon, I might have to.
