When I was expecting #4, I had swollen feet all the time, and could almost never sit and elevate - except when the first 3 were down for a nap, midday. . .

The foot swelling does go down - after the belly does, first!

I second all of the other suggestions, such as keeping your feet elevated, massage, support hose, and drinking lots of water. I also have a couple of other suggestions. First you need to submerge your whole body in water, such as a swimming pool. Spend some time in the pool on a regular basis. The water gives you a lympatic massage and helps your body redistribute the water in your feet. This is also supposed to help keep your blood pressure down and can't hurt anything. Also, put lemon in your water and eat lots of fresh veggies and fruits, like watermelon.

Keep your feet up as much as possible and drink lots of water. After you have the baby continue drinking water and the swelling will go away after a couple of weeks.

Just keep your feet elevated above your heart and stay on them only as necessary. The more you walk, the more swelling. Good luck!

Your doctor will tell you to cut out sweets or cut down on them, avoid salt, and put your feet up when you can, (elevated). Also make sure your doctor knows about the swelling to check for possible SERIOUS problems with your health.

YOu poor thing....summer and humidity are nightmares. I thought I had elephantitis when I was pregnant.
Yes, Feet up....low sodium (NO POTATO CHIPS---oh my, I did that and I thought my feet were going to POP!) also laying on your LEFT side to take pressure off the vena cava....
Also....I dont know where you live....but if there is cold water---like a lake or the ocean (I live in New England and the water in the ocean is ALWAYS cold)....stick your feet in COLD water....I am telling you that my OBGYN told me that trick...sends the blood straight back up the leg!

Sit down and put your feet up. Drink a glass of water (or three)
and sit for an hour and count how many times the baby kicks. They enjoy a nice drink of water too you know.
If you are really into it..you can read your baby a story while you rest. Resting you is taking stress off of baby too.

Drink lots of water, and sit with your feet up. Also, wearing support stockings helped me alot. Talk to your doctor about it. You may have pregnancy diabetes. I believe that can cause swelling in pregnancy. Good luck!!!

Elevate your feet and sleep in a recliner so that your feet do not dangle; contact your ob/gyn stat to have testing done; this could be an unsafe situation for you. Edema can threaten your child and your health.

Drink lots of water (clears out your system and the fluid build-up), sit with your feet elevated, don't stand for long periods of time, wear comfortable shoes with low/no heels and good support.
