I think we'd better start paying more attention to the environment and its weather patterns since they are becoming quite adept at KILLING us.

The research is forced, whether the evidence supports it or not, into Gore's preferred global warming template - shrill alarmism. To believe Gore requires that one ignore the truly inconvenient facts, including; the Arctic was as warm or warmer in 1940; that icebergs have been known since time immemorial; and that the evidence suggests that the Greenland ice sheet is actually growing. A likely result of all this is increased pressure pushing ice off the coastal perimeter of that country, which is depicted so ominously in Gore's propaganda movie. In the absence of facts, Gore uses misleading dire images.
Alpine glaciers have been retreating since the early 19th century. Since about 1970, many of the glaciers have stopped retreating and some are now advancing.
Malaria is claimed as a byproduct of warming, but malaria was once common in Michigan and Siberia. Mosquitoes don't require tropical warmth.
While real climatologists roundly denounce Gore, the "experts" on Gore's side argue things like; the recent hurricanes must be due to global warming because I can't think of any other reason (Greg Holland).
I could go on and on. Gore is disingenuous and a liar. The biggest fact that he ignores is that the earth and its climate are dynamic - they are always changing even without any external forcing. To treat all change as something to fear is bad enough. To do so in order to exploit that fear is unforgivable.

Even if just 10%...or 10% of 10% of that film is true, I'm scared sh**less. Time to change some habits, at the very least. Our dependnce on fossil fuels disgusts me. I realize that they provide a relatively efficient amount of energy per drop of gasoline (in a car engine, efficiencies vary obviously) and there hasn't be a huge incentive to stray from that traditional source...until now. Come on, you engineers - let's be proactive ehre!
