If an urine pregnancy test is positive, you are pregnant because it is very rare to have a false positive test. A false negative test is much more common.
If you have been having regular 28 - 30 day cycles and your menses are 3 weeks late, a simple ultrasound scan will be able to show you the embryo with the heart beating. So you should go get an ultrasound as soon as possible. Meanwhile you should get plenty of rest and try not to worry too much because slight bleeding in pregnancy is extremely common, and will not necessarily lead to a miscarriage.
However on the brighter side, if you are having a lot of pregnancy symptoms like breast tenderness and nausea, that is a good sign because it usually mean that the pregnancy hormone is high and your baby is probably doing fine.

Depending on when your last Drs visit was, the bleeding could be from the exam. However, if your bleeding enough for anything more than a lite day pad, you need to go to the ER ASAP. It sounds like you're having a miscarriage. You can still be nauseous and have breast tenderness, but the cramping and bleeding are NOT good signs. Have someone take you in right now, please!
Take care and let us know how it all shakes out.

If your cervix is closed then I would just stay up off your feet. I had a little bleeding and cramping with both my kids. If the bleeding gets heavy ( one overnight pad in an hour soaked all the way, is what they told me) then get to the hospital. This early if you do start to miscarry then there is nothing that can be done to save the baby. Take it easy and don't over do it. Drink plenty of water, and take your vitamins. My Dr put me on one baby aspirin a day to help me, you might check on that. Are you prone to Miscarriages? If you need someone to talk to, you can email me private and we can talk. I have gone through this and know what it is like. Good luck, and I hope that you and baby are safe.

I had a similar experience. I took a pregnancy test, which came back positive. I took the blood test at the Dr. which came back within normal pregnancy hormone range. Then I started bleeding (lightly). I went to the Dr. convinced I was miscarrying. He said my cervix was closed and that sometimes you do bleed while pregnant. But I still had the feeling I was miscarrying. The next day, they did an ultrasound and couldn't find a heartbeat. But they said it may just be too early to find it. They wanted to do another one in a few days. We talked them into letting me do another blood test. That test came back real low, so they said I miscarried, and to come back in 6 weeks to be checked out to make sure everything was ok. When it came time to go back, I had the same feeling I had before when I was pregnant so I took another test. It came back positive. Here's the weird part. When the baby was born, he was born early - around the due date of the baby I supposedly miscarried. So I don't know if I helped, but that's my story.

Unfortunately, I also think you are having a miscarriage. My first pregnancy ended the same way after 6 weeks. My doctor did another pregnancy test after the cramping and bleeding ended and I had lost the baby. They also then did a regular ultrasound and an intervaginal ultrasound just to make sure. I hope it all works out the way you want it to.

Yes u are pregnant. spotting is normal in the first couple months especially around the time u would normally get ur period..like u said u have a bad Dr. and they probably screwed up ur test. a positive result is always correct but a negative result could be a fluke. Get a new doctor or go to the hospitol. They will examin u there. oh and when ur pregnant your cervix doesnt open until late 3rd trimester.

If the pregnancy tests you took were reputable and not generic, take them to heart. You are probably suffering from a miscarriage. Get the ultrasound done as soon as possible. Your well being is the most important thing at this point.
It will also let you know the baby's condition, if in fact there is a pregnancy.

Tough one if home test are showing pos and doctors are showing neg. Could be miscarriage, but doctors would still show pos even after completion of miscarriage. I would actually go to ER and they will do a blood pregnancy test and if positive an ultrasound especially if you are bleeding and cramping.

Sounds like you could have a major problem in the works. Rather than relate the story of my sister-in-law, let me just say that if you are 3 weeks late and the test shows negative, there might be something wrong. On the other hand, it could be a variety of simple, natural reasons. Just keep your appointments.
