There is this great stuff called "Anti-Icky-Poo" that is available at some pet stores and from mistermax.com . It is great. I've used it for both cat and toddler urine. You can get a syringe at the pet store to apply it in the carpet pad and onto the slab. You have to use a lot of it if it is cat pee, and the smell will get worse before it gets better, but it has always worked for me.

Have had rent houses that I have had to tear out carpet, still could smell it, more so when it was rainy or damp. Ended up tearing out the flooring and replacing it. Hey you may have it on the bedding, floor or where ever, but I could still smell it some after doing every thing even a cleaning company told me to try.
After that I allowed no cats/dogs in my property, Too bad but it makes a large group of people and children ill. I just hate the smell, not worth it.

I tried the black light... it didn't work.
I tried fabreeze... it didn't work
I tried a deodorizing powder I got from the pet store... it didn't work
I tried one of those enzyme liquids from the pet store... it didn't work
I washed the entire carpet myself with a Bissel extraction cleaner... it didn't work
I probably spent close to $100 and put in many hours of work trying to find and remove the smell of dog urine from my carpet myself.
In the end, I hired a steam cleaning company. They charged me about $80, including prewashing the carpet with a deodorant and enzyme treatment. It was worth every penny. I usually prefer to try and resolve these things myself. But in this case, just hire someone. It will save you money in the end and is guaranteed to work.

It's called Urine Gone. It comes with it's own little black lite. I think you may be able to get it at walmart or a store that sells stuff you only see on tv or, drleonards.com. I have a puppy, I used it on my rug and it works.

use the cheapest thing on the market! its called (baking soda). sprinkle it all over your carpet, let it sit for a couple hours then vacuum it up . clean out your vacuum as soon as your done,if using bags, get rid of them right away.
by doing this a couple times a week, you'll have no more smell of any kind.
