They still exist. Sadly they are not shown as an example (T.V., film, etc.) in today's society. So, you must look for them on a personal level---look around you. A neighbor, someone at work or church, a teacher...your mom?
The media does not promote that icon---we live in a world of Brittney, Madonna, Jessica wanna-be's. No more Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Loretta Young, Mary Tyler Moore, Donna Reed... unless you check out Turner Classic Movies & TV Land. :-) Set the example yourself!!! Embrace those admired qualities and show them to the world... you go, Lady!

Too many mothers are failing to pass on this tradition to their daughters. I personally, have taught my daughters the meaning of a true lady. I hold to these values and I hope they will as well.
I also think that there are too many people screaming about equal rights for women. We are equal yet different; therefore, we deserve all the rights that go with our great ability to birth, raise, and guide children. Also, we are the caregivers. You dont see a straight man going to another man for nurturing. We are the nurturers and deserve courtesy.

They all went psycho when the jerk males in the media decided to change the definition of "beautiful."
Marilyn Monroe was a size 14--and she was considered beautiful and healthy--and was THE sex icon.
The world would be a MUCH better place in terms of physical, emotional, AND mental health if they would return to the 50s ideals of beauty.

i think the true lady dissapeared a long time ago when the women's rights movement got started.... now dont get me wrong.. i believe any woman can do anything she wants and deserves to be treated fairly in every situation... but the womens rights movement started women into more of an independent stage.. by this i mean a lot of women dont like it when a man opens a door or pulls out their chair for them because they feel like he is belittling them by doing it... now i think chivalry dissapeared about the same time... and i think they both need to come back

YES! Thank you. She died so long ago it seems, doesn't it? And the youth today look at you like your crazy or something for trying to instill some kind of moral ethic in them..gracious. Women really need to stop with the barbarism of today and return to the powerful sophistication that got us this far in the first place.

She became a whore and started sleeping with any man who asked. For all the freedoms we have fought for, we have also lost much of what made a lady a lady.

Feminism.
I think not dressing in corsets and foot binding and having no rights isn't sexy and classy.
Women being human beings - now that's self love.
