what is better: ipod or mp3 player?

Actually iPods are audio players that play MP3 and AAC Format Audio Files. But that doesn't neccesarily mean they're better than other MP3 Player, of course the iPods are cool but they're just the most popular. As in other devices.......PSP. But Apple's iPod is very cool but I've personally seen better. The link below allows you to see features of other MP3 Players that the iPod doesn't have as far as other audio formats and etc. But check out the link and look at the player for reviews on other cool audio playing devices. As everyone's pointed out, an ipod is an mp3 player, and so much more of course.

If you want a straight mp3 player, consider lexars mp3 player, goes for about $80, and you buy the SD card for it. SD cards are now super cheap so you can get a 2GB mp3 player for about 150 but that's all it does, play mp3's. On another note if you're camera uses SD cards you can always swap it out when needed or swap in when needed.

ipod=mp3 its just that most people have there heads up there asses and dont know what the freakin difference is only reason that people put em in there onwn category is becuase they look oh so shiny and sleek no one should give a rats as.s about the look they shpuld care about the quality of the player .ipod (not =) creative vision m also ipod is the nicest looking but its the gayest and the sound quality is crap compared to that of the creative mp3 players also people only reccomend em becuase they're brainwashed and are brainless followers is they really even paid any attention to the specs theyd see that there actualy not so great for ont the sound sucks the screen only has 62,000 colors? the creative mp3 players with a color screen have 262,000 colors and much better screens and ofcourse much beter audio quality meaning and ipod is a nice and ok mp3 player.... but there are much much much better ones out there like iriver and creative and samsung are probably the best and i know what im talkin about so yah

Depends what you're looking for in a player. iPod s going to be better in sound quality, durability, and options...some people are just put off by the price.

Though people who go for a quick-fix player like MP3's for the easier drag and drop compared to having to use iTunes.

Also how many songs you want. With iPods you have the AAC option.

My sister's iPod nano outrules my mother's MP3 player in the long run, though....

Ya, but not all MP3 players are the same.

I got a Sony that doesnt play certain types of MP3 ( the one they call MPEG2 Layer 3 ). It only play MPEG1 Layer 3. Layer 3 is where the MP3 name comes from. Do not understand the snobbish stance from Sony.
When out to get a Samung play all MP3, not sure about iPod, find the shuffle a little kinky to use.

Umm like hello? An ipod is an mp3 player. Ipod's are the coolest if you don't have one you should go play in traffic.
