In my opinion, mission accomplished.How about a staged withdraw and let Iraq take control of their own country? It is sad to see the loss of our soldiers lives. Isn't it time to bring them home?

well if it is time to bring the troops home, then there are a few questions that hang in the room like the gorillas that they are. the kurds in the north have a fragile egalitarian society that is currently providing more and more services and opportunity for their people. wouldn't it be unspeakably criminal to abandon them to Turkey's national interests. the civil war that already exists between the shia and suni will have zero chance of cooling off, and will turn into a bloodbath if we leave the shia in charge of all the oil resources. the suni will be left with bitter desert (and i do mean NOTHING) and wide open to jihadist opportunist recruiters providing the means for revenge on a global scale. we can't just leave this one and declare victory. colin powell was right when he told W that if you break it you own it. we own this. we cannot give it back. it will stick like glue to our troops even as we bring them home. unlike vietnam, it is fantasy to think we can (declare victory and) fly away without incoming consequences.

Yes - but they never should have been sent to Iraq in the first place. And, we have to get ready to send them to Israel in a week or two, so let's get them out of Iraq while we can and let the Iraqis fight their own civil war. The last time I checked, our military wasn't a police force for the world.

Once again, there was no Al Qaeda/Saddam connection. Iraq had nothing to do with 911. Now Bin Laden did, but I have not seen any progress in capturing him in almost 5 years. Get the hell out of Iraq.

Yes, we are all tired of the war, none of us want it. We are very close to completing our mission in Iraq but we can not leave with "close". We have good commanders who know what it is we need to accomplish, when the job is done we will come home. For now support the soldier and please believe that our military leaders know there job just as you know yours.

I know we would like to see it all over with and all the soldiers returned to Home ! But they are serving a purpose over there , which is defending OUR country . To Us civilians , we need to be supportive to the soldiers and to our President . We can't just forget 9/11 , but have we gotten the revenge we were seeking yet. That's why they went over there , Right? I know I'm suppose to be just answering your question , but my opinion of this helps me to sleep at night while my husband is deployed.

Yes. We need a deadline- nothing EVER gets done without a deadline. If there is a deadline, the Iraqis will have a goal to work towards and so will the US. And, it will increase troop morale because they won't be there indefinitely.

The job isnt finished yet! If they came home now, we would have terrorism full throttle in the U.S. running through our streets! They are doing their jobs, and proud of it too, just ask my brothers, uncles... ETC... they all know its for a good cause.
Just study into why they are there, and you will end up thanking them!
