Do you think that the U.S.A. should remain in the U.N.?

I am just curious to your thoughts and reasons behind them.

I think it might be advantageous to set out for a few years, not even send an ambassador.

I do NOT like the way the world is drifting toward global opinion rules and The U.N. running the show as the seat of power.

I REALLY do not like having American soldiers wearing U.N. uniforms and insignias. If there is to be coalition forces, each wearing his/her OWN country's uniform!

What do you think and why?

Right now it feels like we would be a lot better without the U.N. but we need people on our side! We have better chances of world peace if we are allied with other countries. That is my opinion.

We are a world leader and we need to lead the rest of the world through the United Nations.
Countries around the world hates us and that would make it more difficult to change their opinions.
As for coalition forces, we start more than half of the situations that would require outside assistance and we need to finish helping these countries get back on their feet. After all we knocked them off their feet who better to do the job. Why let someone else take credit for restoring stability to a nation?
Represent!!!
Oh and all politicians should be should have term limits, we need to clean out corrupt politicians before they take too much more control of their destiny. Why shouldn't we control politicians in Washington, I thought they were for the people and not their select friends lining their pockets with our money.
Help clean up government and maybe you'll get some votes.

No, the UN is more then just a global police, there is many humanitarian causes that they do and we should stay involved with them for this reason. As far as the wearing of UN uniforms, I do not see that it makes any difference but service to the UN should be voluntary as it is with our armed forces. I think the UN has potential to bring about world peace and while it has not worked out yet I think that they are still working on it and we as a people should support that.

I think that the US should stay in the UN. It is important to have a place where disputes can be resolved other than in the battle-field. Also, there is something to be said for having many different opinions available- collective wisdom is almost always better than the opinion of one.

I think it is a great idea to aleninate the United States from the rest of the world. I am tired of this global economy, and global ideas. Let's abandon all lessons from history. What a novel thought. MMMM who else has thought that way?

I think the US should make the UN get the f*uck out of NYC and use that property for something useful. The UN is a waste of time and money.

UN is basically run by USA so you can forget about democracy in the UN.
If UN is democratic why have veto power?

If they can bring out reforms to root out all that is rotten (and there a whole bunch of rotten) then it may be worthwhile to work with the group.

if US backs out of UN..imagine what would the poor and needy do? UN only helps individuals that really desparately needs help..

Just veto everything, and form a new governing body and exclude socalist nations.
