They're always happy to see you and they'd do anything for you. A dog in my neighborhood saved his family last week by waking them up because the house was on fire.

They are indeed! I have NEVER had a person greet me with such warmth and enthusiasm. Dogs don't get mad if you cry on their shoulder, and your mascara runs on their fur. They sense when you are hurting, sick, or sad, and they are loyal, loyal friends. I should know. I just played the part of a Labradoodle in the play "Sylvia" by A. R. Gurney. Google the play. It's a true dog lover's peice of drama.

Pets in general are more lovable than most people. I love my cat and prefer her company to many people's. But while I try to value all life, I still value human life above all others.
