There is fighting everywhere, it seems like it is always happening in the middle east because that it where the media is focusing at the moment. There is bad stuff going on in Africa, South America, Asia, and Europe at the moment too.

It's partly a religious thing. The Arabs and Jews were born from two different brothers. Some kind of fight happened and they've been at it for thousands of years.

No, they just hate you and want to kill you in the name of Allah. Its not like you can throw them a bone and they go away happy.
Now granted probably the vast majority of the people prefer to live in peace but they do have a medieval side at work there.
