David Ortiz

Remember in the playoffs 2 years ago when they won the world series. If it wasnt for him, then they never would have beat the Yankees after being down 3-0. They also would have lost to the Angels, a game in which he hit a walkoff. HE IS AMAZING 8th or 9th inning when the game is on the line

i assume you mean a batter, because pitchers come through in the clutch too. the popular choice would be big papi, he gets the publicity and a shot on espn practically every morning, but jeff francoeur of the braves has the most 2 out rbi's in the majors and 2 walk off winning hits in the past 2 weeks, so that's my choice. he will be a huge reason why the braves will surge in the 2nd half and make a serious run at catching the mets in the nl east. laugh if you want, but the 1993 dodgers didn't laugh when they had a 13 1/2 game lead on the braves at the break, only to watch the braves play .750 ball the rest of the way and win the division while the dodgers sat at home and cried.

David Ortiz is gonna be a popular answer. Im gonna go with Joe Crede of the White Sox. This guy comes up big all the time in the clutch and was a big part of the world series win.

Obviously, David Ortiz. In 2005 Red Sox owner John Henry named Ortiz "The Best Clutch Hitter in the History of the Boston Red Sox." He set a new career record of 47 home runs in 2005. Twenty of his home runs either tied or gave Boston the lead, and over the period 2003-2005, he hit .326, with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs in only 221 at bats in the late innings of close games.
