I am not familar with those programs. If the dvd has no copyright protection, then you can just make a 1:1 copy of the dvd. In most software applications, there is a option to copy the entire disc, this is in a sense 1:1.

If the dvd has a copyright protection, you can download Smart DVD, AnyDVD, or any other dvd ripper.

Note, if you copy a dvd into a video cd format, you may not be able to make a dvd out of it, because most software wants the file in another format.

But if you have some video files on your harddrive, you can try selecting an option that will make a video disc and drag 'n drop the video files into the program or however it works, and see if it will let you burn it to a dvd. Nero gets picky about certain file formats.

If you need more help, maybe you can upload some screen shots of the applications that you are using to burn dvd and maybe I can be of more assistant.

First you check to see if you have a burner. Cick "About This Mac" in the Apple menu to open the System Profiler. When it opens click "More Info" That should tell you about all the installed hardware on your computer. If you have a DVD burner, you can use the Apple iDVD program or buy a better easier to use program like Roxio Toast. If you are wanting to copy purchased DVD movies I can't help you. If you want to burn songs, photos, or your own iMovie, you simply drag it to the program window and click burn. That may take a while to happen.
