David Blaine is AMAZING! He started doing a lot of Houdini-type stuff. He's really proud of his "endurance" and what not, but when you see him do regular magic tricks, it's just fascinating!! I can't even begin to THINK of how he does stuff!!! See if you can catch a special about him on tv sometime.

He did this one trick where he took this lady's watch without her even noticing at the very beginning of the trick (they point it out on the tv but the lady doesn't know). He distracts her with a fascinating card trick, then starts talking about some of the watches in this jewlery store's window (it's really late, so the store is closed and all). And the lady finally realizes that her watch is in the display case! It's on one of those plastic circle things with a price tag and everything (it was definately hers because it was this beat-up walmart looking watch in the case with diamond studded watches and everything). Then he picks up a piece of newspaper and holds it over the window, then reaches THROUGH the plate glass window, picks up the watch and pulls it out!! The woman and her husband start feeling the whole glass and pushing on it and stuff. There was definately no hole in it or anything, there wasn't even a hole in the newspaper that he reached through!! It was just the most amazing trick I've ever seen! I've seen hundreds of his other tricks and am just baffled!! He's by far my favorite.

A guy named Wayne Hoffman (an illusionist/magician) came to my college last year and did a lot of tricks. He did some pretty amazing ones too! He did the exact same show twice, once each semester, and even knowing the trick, I COULDN'T figure out how he did it!!!! Like, he had this empty soda can (showed us it was empty, and whatnot, then he crushed it a little with his hand. Then spun his finger around the bottom of the can, then before you even noticed, it was completely undented again. He then went on to POP the tab open, and the can was full of soda and fully carbonated!! He poured some onto the floor to show it was full and then drank like, half! There definately wasn't any kind of tubes up his sleeve carrying coca cola or anything, I watched for that! It's just amazing! Check him out on his website, http://waynehoffman.com (he has some of his tricks up on the website).

Another guy that came to my school that amazed me was Mike Super. He even had someone floating on a board above the stage. He used a plastic hula hoop (that he had an audience member test to see that it wasn't tampered with) and put it all the way around the person, back and forth. It was amazing! He also had a box that he put in the very front center part of the stage with a piece of paper in it. He didn't open it until the end of the show, and it listed EVERYBODY that he used to participate in the show and what they did!!! There were some crazy names too that he spelled right and everything! I knew two of the people and they were just as shocked and creeped out, they definately weren't a planned part of the show.

Hypnotists can be really amazing too! I've seen a couple of them too but can't remember names unfortunately. I definately share in your love of magic and magicians! Even if magic's not real, it can still be so mind-boggling that it's a lot of fun to watch!!!!! Especially in person!! Sometimes if it's on tv, you kind of assume there's some kind of camera tricks involved to make you miss things, but in person, it's all real.

Gene Gordon. He co-founded the IBM (International Brotherhood of Magicians), Knew Houdini, taught Doug Henning and was a great gentleman. He is truly missed

The recent attempt at holding his breath under water by David Blaine was really cool.

I used to like David Copperfield a lot but have not seen him around for a long time.

Criss Angel is the best! Got the melting fork and bending quarter down, but would love to learn the levitating trick.
