if a baby is born with the intestines outside the abdomen, there are generally 2 types:

gastroschisis

omphalocele

Gastroschisis is an off-center abdominal wall defect, but a similar condition is called an omphalocele which is a membrane covered defect. Both are quite amenable to neonatal surgical repair.

How horrid can people be, ya know? Good job trying to help - that's a terrible diagnosis, and I hope if someone's dealing with it right now that the baby turns out well.
